Mountain Bike Race and Ride

A 38.3 km (21 miles) uphill bike race and ride, starting at 1410 m (4625 ft) in Metshina and ending at 3150 m (10330 ft) at the top of Dochula making the climb a total of 1700 m (5700 ft). It will take an average cyclist 3-4 hours to climb 1700 m (5700 ft). Participants need to pre-register and named “Celebration at the top.”

Location: Metshina, Punakha to Dochula, Thimphu
Season: Tentative – mid September
Duration: 1 day
Tourist Profile: Active; healthy; adventurous;

Itinerary Options:

1) Add ride/race onto any existing travel itinerary returning to Thimphu.
2) Combine ride/race with an adventure itinerary.
3) Create an “adventure day” by combining ride/race with hike to Lungchuzekha Goenpa (to Trashigang Goenpa to Hontsho)
